Webinar: Large-Scale Monitoring of Nitrous Oxide Emissions
The Presentations
The Big Nitrous Oxide Picture from a Danish Perspective - towards Reduction and Regulation
Krüger and Niras have recently consulted the Danish EPA on the implementation of a national limit regulation of nitrous oxide emissions from the Danish wastewater treatment plants. Mikkel Algren Stokholm-Bjerregaard will present key aspects of that work, also highlighting current state of knowledge, challenges and opportunities. In addition, he will present recent progress within the MUDP* funded project "N2O Control - Complete Control and Documented Effect" including 8 Danish full scale wastewater treatment plants.
*MUDP is the Danish Minstry of Environment's Environmental Technology Development and Demonstration Program.
Balancing Quality and Emissions: Tackling Nitrous Oxide in Wastewater
In this engaging presentation, Valerie Sels from Royal HaskoningDHV bridges the gap between effluent quality and nitrous oxide emissions. Discover how achieving a good effluent quality harmoniously aligns with minimizing emissions, ensuring both achieving net zero targets and operational excellence. Additionally, we will explore the national monitoring strategy in the Netherlands, addressing key questions related to political drivers, site selection, and proposed outcomes, such as the national emission factor.
From N2O Monitoring to Emissions Strategy
Bharani Sri from Severn Trent will present how the company has implemented a comprehensive strategy for monitoring and mitigating emissions. With a focus on N2O, his presentation will look at the company's monitoring journey and present the lessons learned. We will also look at how emission factors are calculated, the baselining methodology used, and the internal and external policy drivers for this.
